Hi,

I wonder if anyone has come across this or has any idea what could be wrong:

I am not quite sure out to explain this so Appologies if you don't understand : I have a 1996 Petrol 2.0 GLX Galaxy that has developed a wierd idle problem, any ideas on what could be wrong?

When I start the engine from cold, after a couple of seconds the revs drop to 0 for a moment and then correct to normal idle. If I rev the engine on releasing my foot from the pedal the revs drop to 0 then correct to normal idle. if I move the steering wheel then the same thing happens. If I try to drive the car cold it tends to stall if I come to a stop.

As the engine warms up the problem lessens i.e. it rpm drops to 100, then 200, then 300 etc. when the car is warm things are fine!

Any ideas?

Thanks & Regards

Clean out the idle control valve which is probably sticking. (Search for more info)
